As a public service to teachers in Franklin County, Vermont Gas developed an educator's guide for 5th to 8th graders called "Rock River Valley: Pathway to the Past." It draws on archeological evidence dating back several centuries to describe what life was like for native Vermonters and early settlers living along the Rock River. This guide was based on discoveries made during the installation of several miles of pipeline in the Highgate region.
