Breakdown? Call us day or night!

The 24/7 Service Plan is operating insurance for your heating equipment. You’re covered for most parts and labor. Our service techs are on call, any time, day or season. Just contact us. You’ll always reach a person, not a machine, and we’ll dispatch one of our 23 professional, certified technicians to fix the problem.

The 24/7 Service Plan makes good financial sense. Breakdowns can be expensive. A zone valve head fails: $130. The ignition module shorts out: $240. An aquastat relay fails: $280. The 24/7 Service Plan covers you for only $99.90 a year, or just a few dollars a month. Much less than the cost of an average service visit.

Peace of mind – for just a few dollars a month!

For as little as $9.25 a month, you can get The 24/7 Service Plan for your heating system. The “combo unit*” plan is $10.75 a month and covers common repairs to one appliance that heats both your home and your water. And the peace of mind is priceless.

*Combo Unit: a single appliance that provides both heat and hot water.

Annual inspection for only $45.90!

Experience shows that an annual inspection reduces the likelihood of service calls over the coming year. If you decide to cover your heating system with The 24/7 Service Plan, you can also sign up for our annual inspection at the discounted price of $78.30. Better yet, schedule your inspection between Feb. 1 and Aug. 31 and you'll qualify for the off-peak inspection rate of just $45.90.

The annual check-up includes:

  • Checking carbon monoxide levels and adjusting combustion as necessary for safe operation.
  • Visual inspection of vent system for corrosion or obstructions.
  • Checking that the system is drafting properly.
  • Cleaning pilots, burners and flame sensors.
  • Lubricating inducer or blower motors, if needed.
  • Replacing furnace blower belts, if needed.

Terms and Conditions

Annual inspections and other non-emergency repairs to heating systems will be scheduled during normal working hours, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, Monday through Friday. We will respond to water heater service calls every day of the week from 8:00 am to 8:30 pm.

After hours, we will respond to heating systems calls if the temperature is expected to drop below 50 degrees. For emergencies, our certified service technicians are on call 24 hours a day.

Please note: off-peak inspections are conducted February through August. Be sure to schedule your appointment in advance to get the time slot you want.

Coverage begins 14 days after you sign up and expires one year later. Your 24/7 Service Plan will be automatically renewed on its anniversary date unless you notify us otherwise. Rates and terms are subject to change without notice.

This plan is designed to cover the most common repairs to residentialheating systems and water heaters. It does not cover damages resulting from flooding, fire, freezing, riots, strikes, delays, inability to get parts, vandalism or customer negligence. Equipment must be in good working order at the time the plan goes into effect. Vermont Gas is not responsible for obsolete or unavailable parts. Interchangeable parts may be used when necessary.

Some routine maintenance services, such as seasonal pilot light-ups, cleaning boiler water, draining expansion tanks, venting radiators and system balancing, are not covered under the plan. In addition, labor and materials for the following components are not covered: air filters, automatic water feeds, air vents, relief valves, blowers and shafts, blower bearings, direct drive blower assemblies, induced draft motors, power venters, boiler sections, circulator pumps, cartridge-type circulators, expansion tanks, gas piping, heat exchangers, hot water coils, humidifiers, low water cut-offs, motorized dampers, water piping and zone valve bodies. For water heaters, the tank itself, mixing valves and instantaneous water heaters are not covered.

Each 24/7 Service Plan option covers a single appliance, and service plans may not be transferred. If you change your mind within 30 days of signing up and your plan has not been used, we can cancel your plan and issue a full refund. Your plan will be cancelled if payments are delinquent for more than 60 days.
