Field Service Technicians

We are looking to add three Field Service Technicians to our Natural Gas Service team! Responsible for maintenance, repairing, and installing natural gas equipment throughout our northwest VT service territory. This includes repairing minor leaks, turn-ons/offs, setting and changing meters, basic control wiring, installing and servicing all types of domestic gas appliances including conversion burners, central heating, and water heating equipment.


Customer Care Specialist

The Customer Care Specialist provides VGS customers with high quality, effective and efficient service regarding their natural gas service. This position primarily answers incoming phone calls but also responds in writing, proactively reaches out to customers, or works on projects to improve the customer experience. The best Customer Care Specialists are genuinely excited to help customers. They are patient, empathetic and passionately communicative. They can put themselves in their customers’ shoes and advocate for them when necessary. Problem-solving comes naturally to them and they are confident at troubleshooting or investigating if they don’t have enough information. They ensure excellent service standards, solicit customer feedback and work to maintain high customer satisfaction.


Culture and Talent Leader

Gas Controller

We are in search of a Gas Controller!  Perfect position for someone interested in learning about the behind-the-scenes world of natural gas, has exceptional analytical skills and an eye for detail and safety.  You have excellent computer skills, especially with Excel.  This position is on a shift differential and includes recurring night shifts.

Responsibilities include monitoring and controlling the transmission and distribution systems.  Forecast gas demand, manage the supply portfolio, and procure short term supply to ensure maximum profitability while maintaining system integrity.


Senior Gas Controller

The Senior Gas Controller will coordinate daily operations and functions within Gas Control in accordance with Vermont Gas’ operating policies, safety guidelines, supply strategies, and marketing goals. Ensure safe operation of the transmission and distribution network. Coordinate and Implement SCADA changes working with the Instrumentation Technician and the Manager, Gas Supply and Gas Control. With Manager, Gas Supply/Gas Control develop and implement short and long-term gas supply strategies to optimize company’s gas supply resources.  This is a Safety Sensitive position and subject to appropriate drug and alcohol testing.

Must be able to work 12 hour shifts either day or night for at least 7 days in a row with the flexibility to work 8 weeks of day shift and then 8 weeks of night shift on a recurrent basis.


Gas Engineer

The position of Gas Engineer provides general engineering support for all areas of Vermont Gas (VGS) Operations Department. Responsible for the preliminary design of gas facilities including performing cost studies. Responsible for the creation and management of permanent documents such as asbuilt drawings and service cards for all the Company’s gas facilities. Responsible for updating gas system network analysis software models. Makes recommendations for system changes and improvements.
