Healthcare (Medical, Dental, & Vision)
Full-time regular employees can choose from a PPO plan or a High Deductible HSA plan for their medical coverage at a very reasonable cost. The company also offers a comprehensive dental plan and vision services to employees and their dependents.
Vermont Gas contributes a portion of the deductible into an employee’s health savings account for those electing the high deductible health plan.
Flexible Spending Account Options
Employees can set aside up to $1,500 annually on a pre-tax basis for approved health care expenses and up to $5,000 for dependent care costs.
401K Retirement Plan
Employees can set aside pre-tax or post-tax money in to our 401k Plan as soon as they start employment with us. The Company provides a matching contribution in the amount of 60% of the first 5% of annual compensation that the employee contributes to the plan. In addition, the Company makes a contribution of 4.5% of annual compensation. Employees are fully vested in the company match and employer contribution after five years of service.
Employer-paid benefit in the amount of 3x an employee’s annual base salary.
Short-Term & Long-Term Disability
Employer-paid plans that enable employees to receive a % of their base salary while out on disability.
Vacation is accrued on a monthly basis. For the first 0-9 years of service the accrual rate is 10 hours per month. This is equivalent to 3 weeks in a year.
40 hours of sick leave is provided every January 1st. All unused sick leave hours may be rolled over each year with no maximum limit.
Holidays and Personal Days
9 Company-paid holidays & 16 hours of personal time each year.
VGS will reimburse 100% of the cost of tuition, books and associated fees for all approved courses or degree programs dependent upon the final grade earned, currently up to $10,000 per calendar year.
