How to Contact Us:

For emergencies, our certified service technicians are on call 24-hours a day. After hours, we will respond to heating system calls if the temperature is expected to drop below 50 degrees. Just give us a call at 802-863-4511. We will respond to water heater service calls every day of the week from 8:00 am to 8:30 pm. Annual inspections (if purchased) and other non-emergency repairs to heating systems need to be scheduled during normal work hours, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, Monday through Friday (excluding holidays), during the months of February through August. Service Plan participants must provide VGS personnel with clear and safe access to all equipment covered by the Service Plan; VGS may refuse to perform repairs on equipment that is not safely accessible.

Coverage Term, Price Changes, and Cancellation:

Coverage begins 14 days after you sign up and is month to month thereafter. You can cancel anytime by calling us at 802-863-4511 or emailing customerservice@vermontgas.com. Rates and terms are subject to change after January each year. Communication regarding any rate or term changes will be made electronically and 30 days prior to such change. Each VGS Service Plan option covers a single appliance, and service plans may not be transferred. Your plan will be cancelled if payments are delinquent for more than 60 days.

Monetary Limitation of Coverage:

VGS shall not provide repairs exceeding $2,000 per Service Plan in a 12 month period

Conditions for Coverage:

Acceptance and participation in the Service Plan is conditional and subject to the age and condition of your equipment. VGS may condition participation on a site inspection to confirm that equipment is in good working order and properly installed at the time the Service Plan goes into effect. All equipment must be installed in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions; Federal, State, and local requirements; and VGS standards. If during a service call or inspection, it is determined that your equipment was not installed in accordance with Federal, State or local requirements, this Service Plan will not cover the costs to bring your equipment into compliance.

What the Plan Covers and Doesn’t Cover:

This Service Plan is designed to cover the most common repairs to residential heating systems and water heaters. In the event that a replacement part is no longer manufactured, or otherwise unavailable, interchangeable parts may be used when necessary.   Some routine maintenance services, such as seasonal pilot light-ups, cleaning boiler water, draining expansion tanks, venting radiators, and system balancing, are not covered under the plan. The Plan also does not cover damages resulting from flooding, fire, freezing, lightning, power surges, delays, inability to get parts, vandalism, or customer negligence. In addition, labor and materials for the following components are not covered: circuit breakers, external wiring, air filters, automatic water feeds, air vents, relief valves, blowers and shafts, blower bearings, direct-drive blower assemblies, induced draft motors, power venters, boiler sections, circulator pumps, cartridge-type circulators, expansion tanks, gas piping, heat exchangers, hot water coils, humidifiers, low water cut-offs, motorized dampers, water piping, and zone valve bodies. For water heaters, the tank itself, mixing valves, expansion tanks, and tankless water heaters are not covered.
