Program will help small businesses and entrepreneurs save money, upgrade systems and reduce their energy needs

South Burlington, VT – Vermont Gas is encouraging its small business and nonprofit customers to participate in its nationally recognized and award-winning energy efficiency program. The Company’s Small Business Efficiency Program provides weatherization and incentives to smaller businesses looking to improve overall efficiency in their buildings and reduce their energy expenses. Fall is the perfect time for these organizations to schedule their free energy audit.

“Vermont is home to some of the most talented and innovative small business owners who collectively support tens of thousands of good paying jobs in our state,” said Don Rendall, President and CEO of Vermont Gas. “By bringing our highly effective efficiency program to more employers, we can help strengthen those businesses and community groups with lower energy costs. Natural gas continues to be the most affordable heating option for over 5,700 businesses in Franklin, Chittenden and Addison counties. This enhanced focus on our efficiency offering is providing another level of savings”

Efficiency programs are extremely popular with our larger industrial and commercial customers. This initiative specifically targets our small business customers with products and services tailored to their needs. The first step is to meet with a Vermont Gas efficiency expert and conduct an energy audit to determine your unique needs. Vermont Gas provides incentives for weatherization and as well as rebates for energy efficient appliances and equipment.

Earlier this year, the United Church of Colchester was in need of a new boiler system and turned to Vermont Gas’ energy experts to help them through the process and provide incentives for installing energy efficient equipment.

“Vermont Gas was very helpful as we looked to purchase a new boiler system for our church. They were knowledgeable, provided financial incentives, and helped us choose the most efficient heating system,” said Jerome Allyn, of the United Church of Colchester. “I am sure our entire Congregation is looking forward to seeing significant savings in our heating bills this winter not to mention being nice and warm during services.”
